104.7 WAYZ Raises Money For Franklin County Veterans Affairs

(FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA — January 18, 2018)

104.7 WAYZ presented a check to Franklin County Veteran Affairs for $1,100. The money was raised from the sale of the special edition “WAYZ Remembers” t-shirt sold at events and at the studio over the last few months.

“They have an amazing program called Save A Pet, Save A Vet and some of this money will go to funding that program. I’m so glad that we were able to help with this amazing cause and we got to meet some cute pups too,” said WAYZ midday jock Krystle.

101.5 Bob Rocks Hosts 9th Annual Christmas Spectacular Benefiting Girls Inc

101.5 Bob Rocks hosted their 9th Annual Christmas Spectacular at The Warehouse at Break Away II Sports Lounge in Hagerstown, MD on December 15. The station went “old school” with completely live commercials, skits, and music.

Items donated from a variety of local businesses were auctioned off on social media and in person at The Warehouse. Lou Brutus made a special guest appearance throughout the day along with the full on-air staff and VerStandig GM Blake Truman.

The Bobs manged to raise $3,410 with all proceeds going to Girls, Inc of Washington County.

WAYZ Plans 60th Birthday Bash

(GREENCASTLE, PA — July 12, 2017)

WAYZ is celebrating 60 years on the air with a birthday bash. The station will return to Red Run Park in Rouzerville, PA for a day of live music and prizes.

“We wanted to bring it back to where it all started and where WAYZ holds so many memories from the years of Summer Fun Fest,” said WAYZ’s Tiny.

The birthday bash will kick off at 1:00 PM and feature performances from Nashville recording artists Heidi Raye, Matt Gary, Jessie Chris and Jeff Bates. The event is free and open to all ages.

“It’s our birthday, but we’re giving our listeners the presents. They are the reason we’re lucky enough to celebrate 60 years. We’ll have concert tickets, gift cards and more to giveaway,” said WAYZ’s Krystle.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase a chance to win a guitar signed by several artists including Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley and Aaron Tippin. All proceeds from the raffle will go toward Tori Anderson’s Walk for Tori Benefiting Scleroderma Research. Tori was an on-air personality at WAYZ for over 20 years.

Bob Rocks Raises Over $2,200 for Testicular Cancer Society

(HAGERSTOWN, MD — May 25, 2017)

VerStandig Broadcasting’s 101.5 Bob Rock’s presented a check for over $2,200 to Mike Craycraft of the Testicular Cancer Society. Money for the donation was raised through the “2nd Annual Rock Your Balls Golf Tournament” held at Hagerstown Greens at Hamilton Run on May 6. The event was held to create awareness during April for Testicular Cancer month.

“Thanks again to 101.5 Bob Rocks, the participants, and sponsors for the awareness they’ve helped create with this event,” said Craycraft.

Participants were challenged to 18 holes with opportunities to take home several prizes including a car donated by Hamilton Nissan, a golf prize pack donated by Maryland Lottery and a trip to Cancun donated by Lust Gentlemen’s Club.

“The number of players doubled this year compared to the first tournament which was really exciting. We’re hoping to have enough participants to create a morning and afternoon tournament next year,” said Bob Rock Promotions Director Stacey Haynes.

The title sponsor was Hafer’s Gunsmithing with lunch sponsored by Break Away II Sports Lounge. Other event sponsors included: Middletown Valley Bank, Albright, Crumbacker, Moul & Itell, Lancaster County Career and Tech, Twiggs Cycle, Toys for Tots, Keeler Chiropractic, Shiley Acres and Hollie Hall with Mary Kay.
