We’re looking for reliable candidates who want to learn and be a part of a great, locally owned radio company.  Hours are primarily weekends, but may vary.  Experience is preferred, but if you have that special passion for radio, we will train you and give you a shot.   Candidates must live WITHIN driving distance!

Quiz Receives 300 Entries in Three Days

VerStandig Media used Interactive Content in an Engagement Marketing Campaign and received over 300 interactions in only three days.

Setting Up the Study

One of the first Interactive Content Campaigns we ever ran was: “Which Crayola Crayon are You?”. We built a quiz which we embedded on our website and shared on our social media. By taking the quiz, our online followers also entered to win tickets to the Crayola Experience.

None of our radio stations mentioned the contest. We simply placed it on our stations’ websites, and shared it on the stations’ social media profiles.

Collecting Results

The first three days of the contest, the quiz was embedded on the 101.5 WBHB, 104.7 WAYZ, and 92.1 WNUZ web pages. It was not shared or mentioned on social media. With the quiz just sitting on our web pages, we received around ten entries. After three days, we shared the quiz on one station’s social media at a time. The first share on social media yielded close to ninety entries. The next day, we shared it on another station’s social media. This share resulted in over 100 entries. After the third station shared the quiz, there were around seventy new entries.

While the results definitely seemed to correlate with the shares on social media, we wanted to be sure. Therefore, we let the quiz sit on the page without sharing it for an entire week, in order to  gauge the campaign’s success. As a result, the entry rate lowered significantly.

By the last day of the contest, the quiz was only getting one or two entries a day. Then, we shared the quiz on VerStandig Media’s social media. The entry rate jumped almost immediately. The last day, we received over 30 entries.


Overall, the quiz received 336 submissions; the majority of the entries were a result of social media bringing attention to the campaign. By sharing the quiz on social media, we received around 300 entries in only 3 days.

Baseball Quiz Yields Large Results

The Goal
The Hagerstown Suns Baseball Quiz is an ongoing study focused on prize as a motivation. In this study, VerStandig Media decided to use in-house prizes and stations in order to promote this campaign. There was a surplus of tickets to see the Hagerstown Suns, and we knew that other radio stations in the area used on-air promotions to give their tickets away. Since we had multiple on-air contests running on each of our stations, we decided to commit them to a purely digital promotion. Since the tickets weren’t a highly priced item that not everyone would want, we had to figure out the best method to get people interested. We chose to give the tickets away in a sweepstakes that people could enter into after taking a quiz. Since the prize value wasn’t very high, we knew that a quiz would be the perfect Engagement Marketing option to catch attention. We set the quiz up to pick weekly winners, to increase interest even more. Check out the quiz below:

In this study, we found the quiz to be a very low maintenance option; we shared the quiz on a station’s social media page once a week which yielded 245 entries in one month. The most significant increase in entries was directly impacted by whether the campaign was shared on social media or not. Every time the campaign was shared, the number of entries greatly increased, with a slow increase throughout the rest of the week. Of the 254 entrants, 175 of them opted in to receive emails from VerStandig Media and it’s affiliates. In only one month, we increased our audience and secured listeners and online followers by 175 people. Check out more Engagement Case Studies!

104.7 WAYZ Raises Money For Franklin County Veterans Affairs

(FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA — January 18, 2018)

104.7 WAYZ presented a check to Franklin County Veteran Affairs for $1,100. The money was raised from the sale of the special edition “WAYZ Remembers” t-shirt sold at events and at the studio over the last few months.

“They have an amazing program called Save A Pet, Save A Vet and some of this money will go to funding that program. I’m so glad that we were able to help with this amazing cause and we got to meet some cute pups too,” said WAYZ midday jock Krystle.
